Man pleads guilty to punching wife after heating dream

A Pennsylvania man who attacked and tried to strangle his wife after he woke up from a bad dream in which she was cheating on him has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and other charges.

Conrad Rudalavage, 50, faces up to 30 years in prison after entering guilty pleas to charges of aggravated assault and aggravated indecent assault on Thursday.

Archibald police say Rudalavage had been drinking on January 14 before he dreamed that his wife, Lori Williams-Rudalavage, was unfaithful, then woke up and began punching and choking her before throwing her down on the driveway of their Archibald home and threatening to kill her.

'I loved you. Now I am going to kill you,' he was quoted as telling her, according to a criminal complaint.

He then began punching Williams-Rudalavage in the face and body, and allegedly tried to rip her clothes off.

Williams-Rudalavage ran outside to try and escape him but Rudalavage threw her down on the driveway and slammed her head into the ground, police said.

Rudalavage then choked her and continued to threaten to kill her.

When the couple's 17-year-old daughter came home and tried to intervene, Rudalavage began to choke her, twisted her arm and smashed her cellphone to stop her from calling 911, according to court papers.

The teen was eventually able to get away and went to the neighbors, who then came to Williams-Rudalavage's aid by pulling her husband off of her.

When police arrived at the family's home in the 100 block of Bel Air Drive and began examining Williams-Rudalavage's injuries, her husband fled the scene in his Jeep Cherokee.

Officers followed him to his family's used car business in Eynon, where he was arrested.

Rudalavage was initially charged with attempted homicide, aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and recklessly endangering another person.

Lori Williams-Rudalavage told police that her husband had been drinking heavily and went to bed early on the night of the incident.

In court on Thursday, Rudalavage's defense attorney, Peter Paul Olszewski, told a judge his client understands the severity of his crimes, reported the Scranton Times-Tribune.

He remains in an alcohol treatment center in Dauphin County and can't have contact with his family. His sentencing has not been scheduled yet.
