Internet Not Prepared for Labrador's Expression When the Camera Comes Out

Trying to get a dog to sit and stay still for photos is just as difficult, if not more, than asking a child to smile for a snap. But once you're able to capture the picture-perfect moment, it lasts a lifetime.

TikTok users will now have one yellow Labrador's photo forever engrained in their memory because of his totally unexpected reaction to the camera. How on earth this dog learned to pose for the camera like this will forever be a mystery, but it has left viewers in stitches.

The Labrador named Cooper was looking straight at the camera, which is a challenge for most other dogs. But then he had a grin that took over his entire face. It looked like Cooper was jumping for joy.

The November 9 TikTok video brought in over 210,300 views and 19,200 likes. The caption reads, "My fav pic of all time." It's safe to say this picture is up there on the list of greatest dog photos of all time.

Cooper supposedly "ruined" the photo with this go-to face, but users couldn't love this photo any more. "That's the best face!!!" said a TikTok user.

Another user commented: "Idk what I expected BUT THIS FACE WASN'T IT."

"Nailed it!!" wrote user @kaceexoxo0.

Can Dogs Smile?

It's hard to deny that the pooch is smiling in this video. Well, if that's what one calls a smile! But plenty of dog owners find themselves asking, can dogs smile?

A dog's smile might not necessarily be brought on by the same reasons as a human's smile, but dogs do in fact grin. Scientists believe a smiling canine stems from both evolution and the fact dogs are experts at analyzing human behavior, according to PetMD.

But, not every smile represents a happy dog. It's important to analyze a dog's body language. For example, a dog who appears to be smiling but also panting might be feeling anxious, tired, or hot, a Rover article states. A smiling dog with their ears back could represent discomfort.

On the flip side, not every happy dog will smile. Dog owners can spot a happy dog as their bodies are relaxed and they have a soft and calm look on their faces. They'll also often times wag their tail with excitement.
