He was born to parents, Nee Nee Lorenzo (mother) and Irvington Domingo Lorenzo, Sr (father). He has seven siblings. Among them, only his older brother, Chris Gotti is known to the public.

In 2002, Irv Gotti directed several music videos including ‘Foolish’, ‘Down 4 U’, ‘Baby (Remix)’, etc. His label’s two biggest stars were Ashanti and Ja Rule.
